Happy New Year, friends! May your 2019 be full of great gaming and good times. While I doubt any of us will still be congregating here in 2020, the ride has been a good one (or rather, the company has been good!). Cheers!
I can only concur with Greyhaven (as usual) an Arastor. I am deep into board games and can occasionally be found on Steam, of course. Very busy atm - decided it might be a good idea to continue after completing my Master's.
It has been a pleasure, my friends. We have exactly one year of remaining time before dues roll around. There is a tiny chance we'll have a reason to continue on by that point, but yeah, regardless of HXE's capability, TUC has been awesome. Cheers!
Since I can't stand the last thing in the shoutbox being a negative comment from me, I just want to say, if nothing else, I am grateful to HXE for having given me the opportunity to get to know some of you. Rock on. (and no, I'm not typing drunk
No more HexPVPTools That was about the last stand of HEX fun - watching the average activity drop. Cheers to Fred for sticking it out as long as he did. TUC has 388 days before we need a plan; I promise we'll communicate it better than HXE
Haunted Harvest - HEX's first holiday event and the genesis of dynamic PvE - is a no-show. Not that it wasn;t already obvious that dead game is dead, but failing to flip an existing switch is just lame. HXE sux.
@yew pathfinder game seems interesting tried it on mobile but I'm to cheap to fork out 15€ to try it
I'm still occasionally checking in. My time is primarily dedicated to the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game community, especially since there's going to be a major overhaul to it moving forward from about mid-2019 onwards.
they are 100% focused on pve, np pvp in game. Coop should be delivered in about 3-4 months, last week devs promised new campaign and new mode 'lost tales' aka challenges, sooner than later, they react pretty fast in Early Access so far
its completly different game than physical, devs decided to dont make 1:1, they wanted to make completly new game based on physical with digital aspects etc. For me its great game, it needs little more content, but its matter of time
As of the last updates on the official forums, HEX support hasn't answered a ticket in over a month, so even if you do get an account link, it is likely to rot. ALL of our "investments" are basically dead. Smart money is to stay away, sadly.
Don't know how to break it to you mate, but the game is pretty much dead, and the UC with it. I don't think I ever added you to my list, or I'd be willing to log in to check it for you. I hope you can find someone, but don't hold your breath.
have my apparently deleted account in their friendlist and could send me a screenshot? Seems to be the only way to restore mine. Basically decided to give this a chance and if all my investment from 2 years ago just vanished into thin air I´m...
Hey guys! I know i´ve been away for a reeeeeaaaallllyyy long time. New job I took 3 years ago basically took up all of my time. Wanted to get back into Hex and ran into some account trouble... I know it´s a really slim chance, but does anyone still..
our guild looks pretty dead ;/ anyone is still visiting? playing? or is planing to play togerther? maybe different game like lotr lcg? 100% pve card game with coop that will be released next week as Early Access
That technically beats out nothing so I'm glad to hear it, but things still look grim. I agree that their tight-lip policy isn't doing them any favors, and may cost them their chance to turn things around with the community.
But it is clear that they are hemorrhaging players at record rates, and failure to engage in the wake of these tiny admissions of strain only escalate things. If they even tried to build genuine empathy, they still could. But ships are sailing.
Set 10 is going to be delayed until they have more cash for art. The positive (?) news is that they are working on something(TM) to build themselves up as a publisher & developer, which (if successful) will lead to more growth for the game.
So the Friday update from Cory finally gives us some official word that times are tough for Hex. Set 9 revenue is low enough to constrain what they can do, at least in the short term. (Realistically, until/if they can find a way bring the mojo back.)
Well, I tried to spark the Dinobot. Ended up with the most-thumbed OP in the entire official HEX forum...and so far it remains unanswered. Feels like we're all just waiting for the comet to drop these days.
there are lots of companies that engage in shady business practices. there's nothing wrong with customers being informed about who they financially supporting. but i'm not pressing the issue because i'm no longer a customer
If it were a bubble, I'd agree. And it *should* just be a bubble. But here, weeks before the 5th anniversary and everything that did or didn't happen in that time, I think this will be inflated and serve as the pebble that starts the flood.
all though i personally fell out of love with the game 6 months ago and move to tabletop games i feel the current state is a bubble and will clear. Cory will make a statement they need to deal with the toxic forums. I blame the discord
I was never planning on cashing out; I made my peace with everything I spent along the way. But yeah, the show is coming (happening), and it looks like the end result of our PvE waitlist is just front-row seats. We might get wet.
Also deleted: Every thread that mentions the debacle since. If Cory's statement ends up being pure poetic gold, I can still say that HXE's censorship policy shows a baffling preference toward escalating PR crises and a sad disregard for the base.
Damn, the main forums have taken some dark turns in recent weeks. Baffling dev moves and comm blackouts have pulled the gloves off of "the best community in gaming". Popcorn and fire-sale hysteria, anyone? Remember to duck.
i blame ps4. everything is failing because they're trying to tune it to extract money from console players instead of just making a place to play with our cards. why collect anything if the only modes are going to be randomly generated or standard?
I'm also sorta here. I gave HEX a second chance, fell into old habits spending too much for nothing, and dumped it again. I doubt I'll be back. But I dig TUC, so I keep hanging out. One day, we'll have something to talk about again
